DIY Balloon Garland

Happy Monday! Hope ya’ll had a wonderful weekend.

My youngest turned two over the weekend and we threw her a TWO Sweet Birthday Party! It was so much fun. Whenever we have a birthday party/baby shower/bridal shower etc. I love getting creative and making balloon garlands! They look so amazing and add such a fun touch of detail.

So I wanted to share my DIY Ballon Gardland with you! It is pretty easy to make, the only tricky part is hanging it up! I suggest the hanging part be a two person job. Keep reading for my step by step process.

Supplies you will need:

  • 30-40 balloons
  • 6lb fishing line
  • 1 needle
  • tacks/tape

STEP 1: GET BALLOONS

Buy at least 30-40 assorted balloons – the more balloons, the better and longer your garland will be.

STEP 2: BLOW UP BALLOONS

Blow up all the balloons in various sizes. I did some large, some medium and some small.

STEP 3: THREAD BALLOONS

First, thread fishing through needle and knot the line so that you don’t loose the needle/line. Then starting threading the needle with fishing line through the balloons. For this, you can you use any pattern you’d like. I did 1 large, 1 medium, 1 small and varied the colours.

STEP 4: HANG GARLAND

Ok, so this is where you need that second pair of hands on deck! Start by having one person position where you want it, and then go from there. We ended up tying more fishing line from the balloons and then tacking that line into where we wanted it. We did this 3 times for the desired outcome! Another option is to use strong clear tape.

Good luck! And would love to see pictures of your garland!
